Discover 4 Ways to Make You Feel Great About Yourself

How many of us have experienced being down for no reason? We wake up feeling shitty and having no desire to do anything today, but we have to get up and get ready and have breakfast and shower and start the day no matter what. And so on and on day after day. Who wouldn't want to start the week happy and smiling and with a great attitude about oneself knowing that you are the best? I will tell you a secret: it's not that difficult to feel great about yourself and I will tell you how to start a new life full of positive attitude and self-esteem.

1. Smile. When you are in the worst possible mood, try smiling. It will be forced for the first ten minutes but I assure you that after a while your mood will change and the smile will become natural just because you will be in a better mood! We smile when we are happy and we frown when we are sad so starting smiling while being sad triggers some reverse mechanism and sends the signals to your brain that you are indeed happy and not sad so the brain gets confused and after a while believes it is indeed supposed to be happy. Easy like this!

2. Eat good food. Yes, eating something nice will make you feel great. Sometimes your lousy mood can be caused by lack of certain minerals responsible for your mood, so when grumpy try snacking on foods such as avocado, grape juice, dairy, turkey, lentils, almonds, cashews, cheese and spinach. Even if you are on a strict diet, you can choose from the variety of foods that will get you back into a good mood. And never never skip meals!

3. Solarize or, in other words, get some sun. Humans are sun-dependent just like many other creatures on our planet and lack of sunrays on our skin can make us really really upset. So try getting out of your dark office during lunch time when the sun is in its brightest and just go for a walk feeling the sun caress you. This will make you feel your best and will increase your productivity at work. Tip: do not forget sunscreen!

4. Gossip. Well, not really gossip but meet with your friends at least once a week to just chit chat about random things. It's an interesting scientific fact that gossiping releases progesterone, which helps relieve stress and makes you feel good. There is no really a scientific explanation to why it happens but I tend to think that there are two facets to this fact. First of all, people who socialize tend to be happier than people that live lonely and secluded life. And secondly, gossiping makes you share some information with others and thus makes you feel important part of a group. If you have no friends, try joining some groups online and eventually you will find someone to talk to about random nothingness and will feel much better about yourself!
Still feeling lousy? Have some spinach, put on a smile, and go for a walk with some colleagues. These four simple steps will make you feel great about yourself!
